Miriam’s curriculum is designed to provide transition services to every K-12 student and their family with the goal of preparing them both academically and socially for life outside of Miriam.
Some families choose to remain as part of the Miriam community for the duration of their child’s education, while others may stay for three to four years to acquire the tools they need to transition into another public, private, or parochial school. Families of children in our lower and middle school may consider a transition at a natural point such as 6th grade or after 8th grade. Typically, children who enroll at the high school level will remain at Miriam High School and graduate as seniors.
As a part of each child’s personalized learning experience at the High School, transition services begin preparing for life after high school freshmen year. Administrators and staff work with each student individually, along with their parents, to determine their interests, needs and dreams. Some students plan for four-year or community college experiences, and others want to explore job training, internships, and life skills preparation. Miriam High School’s unique programming is designed to support both types of these learners and set students up for success in their post-secondary endeavors.
