Gary Schoen is part of the teaching team at Miriam High School, teaching science-focused courses.
Gary Schoen brings to Miriam his extensive teaching experience from Francis Howell, Valley Park, and McCluer High Schools, where he taught all levels of mathematics and digital electronics. He has been an adjunct Professor at St. Louis Community College and the University of Missouri—St. Louis.
Additionally, Mr. Schoen served as Team Lead for Professional Learning Communities a program that encourages peer mentoring and cooperation. His educational expertise includes curriculum and course development and teaching classes for dual-credit in an inclusionary special education setting.
In past positions, Mr. Schoen enjoyed coaching soccer and sponsoring the Outdoor Adventure and Gaming Club. He holds teaching certificates in Mathematics grades 7-12 and General Science grades 7-9. Mr. Schoen holds additional certifications to teach AP Calculus and the Project Lead the Way course: Digital Electronics.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education (emphasis in Mathematics, with related areas of Physics and Computer Science) and a Master of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Missouri—St. Louis.
