Donna Higgins is a special educator at Miriam High School, teaching courses in personal finance, child development, and more.
Higgins brings 18 years of teaching experience with her to Miriam. She has taught students with diverse backgrounds and learning styles in her previous positions at Wentzville School District, Childhaven, the Magic House-St. Louis Children’s Museum, and most recently, the Academy of St. Louis, where she taught the past 6 years.
Donna has experience with many different learning challenges, including trauma. She utilizes a personalized learning approach, modifying curriculum, encouraging social skills development, helping students prepare for life after high school, and making learning fun.
Donna holds a Bachelor of Science in Special Education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and a Master of Arts in Education from Lindenwood University.
