Mary Cognata completed a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Bachelor of Science in Special Education, both from the University of Missouri at St. Louis and she earned her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Missouri Baptist University. Before coming to Miriam School, Mary taught grades four and five in the St. Louis Archdiocese for 13 years. Ms. Cognata came to Miriam School in 1999 and served as a classroom teacher for 11 years and also worked through Miriam Learning Center to tutor community students and lead social skills groups. Ms. Cognata was named Associate Head of School in July 2010 and became Miriam School’s Head of School in July 2018.
