The Learning Center’s certified, special education teachers provide individual tutoring to improve reading, math, and/or written expression skills for children who learn in non-traditional ways. The Learning Center’s teachers understand the special educational needs of children with ADHD, high functioning Autism, and/or a learning disability. Research-based programs such as Orton-Gillingham - including SPIRE and Wilson, TouchMath, Step Up To Writing, and other multi-sensory approaches are used to help students improve academics areas in which they are struggling.
Certified tutors will provide instruction at a child’s school, within the home, or at a Miriam Center location. Daytime, after school and evening hours are available.

This entails extensive preparation to ensure the curriculum is individualized and that your child is challenged.
- All curriculum-based pricing includes:
- Instruction with a certified content, special education or reading certified teacher– One hour minimum required
- Individualized curriculum design
- Coordination with professionals and parents working with the child
- Homework preparation, assignment, and scoring
- Grade recording
Skill Development
Tutoring provides an intensive burst of specialized instruction to develop reading, writing, and math skills and Spanish, French, science, and other core subjects.
