Miriam Academy understands that our students may need additional services in speech & language, occupational therapy and counseling, and we have licensed professionals who provide those necessary services. These services can be embedded within the student’s classroom work or are available through intensive one-on-one or small group therapies. Provision of support services is included in the annual tuition rates, so there is no additional cost for families.
Speech & Language Therapy
A professional speech and language pathologist is available at Miriam Academy to meet individually with students. Small speech & language therapy group sessions are also available during the day.
Occupational Therapy
A certified Occupational Therapist provides services to students per individualized education plan goals.
School Counselor
Miriam Academy has its own school counselor onsite daily to work with students on a wide range of services such as planning for the future, working through challenging situations, testing and receiving accommodations. In addition, a licensed counselor is available to meet individually with students as needed for crisis support in social-emotional, peer, family and life issues as well as on-going therapy through the Miriam Learning Center and St. Louis Children’s Service Fund. Short-term, small group therapeutic interventions will be available based on student needs, e.g. grief, trauma, divorce, social skills and anger management.
