HIGH SCHOOL

Olivette Campus  |  1138 N. Warson Road, St. Louis, MO 63132

Be part of a high school community where learning differences are not so different.

Upon realizing that there was no other high school in St. Louis that could provide the services Miriam provided for grades K-8, leaders determined they must open a high school for students with complex learning challenges. Opened in fall 2016 and now located in Olivette, Miriam High School continues Miriam’s tradition of focusing on the whole student through small group instruction, caring teachers, and specialized curriculum. With a low student-to-teacher ratio and a collaborative learning approach, students find an environment full of possibilities.

At Miriam School, learning is designed to meet the unique social, emotional, physical, and academic needs of each student. Graduates are equipped with not only a transcript, but a portfolio of skills that will ensure their success as they move on to college, vocational training or the workforce.

Occupational and Speech/Language therapies - as well as counseling - are built right into the school day. Our OT, SLP and School Psychologist/Counselor see students individually and small groups, and they also push into academic classrooms.

Miriam High School students are assigned to courses within one of three tracks - Concepts, Core and Challenge. Students may follow one track for all classes, or cross tracks for classes that fit their needs and strengths.

Miriam High School’s Experiential Learning Program allows students to graduate with not only a diploma from an accredited high school, but also a rich portfolio of skills for life. We provide experiences outside of school where students hone these skills and learn about opportunities.

As a part of each student’s personalized experience at the High School, they begin preparing for life after high school during freshman year. Some students plan for college experiences, while others want to explore job training and life skills preparation.
