Physical Therapy
Serving families across St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and St. Charles County, our therapy services support children ages 2–18 with a wide range of developmental, physical, and communication needs. Each session is individualized to help children gain the skills they need to thrive.
When a child is having difficulties with muscle tone, movement and/or coordination, then physical therapy may be appropriate. Developmental delays with sitting, crawling, or walking can result from neurological conditions, genetic disorder, birth defects, and autism. Early intervention with a licensed pediatric physical therapist can increase a child’s physical abilities and improve functional skills.
Therapy That Grows With Your Child
As children get older, physical therapy can address barriers that may be preventing the child from attaining age-appropriate goals such as the balance and core strength needed to ride a bike. Miriam’s physical therapists use a variety of treatment interventions, including exercises, stretching, massage, and hands-on therapy to improve areas of physical weakness.
Our clinics see children who have minor physical issues due to gross motor developmental delays. In schools, we see children with a wide variety of conditions that require physical therapy to improve.
Personalized Support
Our experienced physical therapists work with each child to improve mobility and overall physical functioning. We have a well-equipped gym at our Webster Groves location that makes each therapy session fun and productive. We encourage parents to participate in treatment and to learn different exercises and techniques that can help their child progress. Parent education is a big part of Miriam’s physical therapy. Therapy occurs approximately one time per week for 50 minutes and therapy continues until we achieve each child’s individualized goals.
