Music Therapy
Serving families across St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and St. Charles County, our therapy services support children ages 2–18 with a wide range of developmental, physical, and communication needs. Each session is individualized to help children gain the skills they need to thrive.
Music is a perfect way for children to work on language, academic, and social/emotional goals. Miriam’s certified music therapist puts a new spin on working on goals, tapping into the right hemisphere of a child’s brain, and stimulating their creative side. Through music, the therapist can reduce anxiety, improve cognitive functioning, promote physical rehabilitation, and enhance interpersonal communication. Children can listen to music, sing, play musical instruments, or compose music to make progress towards their therapeutic goals. Music therapy is perfect for non-verbal students, students who are not making progress through traditional therapies, older students who are not benefitting from talk therapies and need to learn ways to express themselves, and other students who would benefit from learning new skills and strategies in a less traditional format. Sessions are 50 minutes per week by appointment.
