Empowering Unique Learners

Therapy Services

One hour per week in therapy can make a huge difference in a child’s skill level. Early therapy interventions are the key to improvement.

Choosing the right provider for occupational, speech, language or physical therapy services is paramount because therapists need to have the expertise to help your child progress. Miriam Learning Center therapists only work with children and adolescents (ages 2 to 18). We serve youth who have a wide variety of symptoms that interfere with school and everyday functioning including those associated with developmental delays, low tone and core muscle strength, delays in activities of daily living, autism, speech and language disorders, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, and social pragmatic communication disorder. All of our therapists are Missouri licensed professionals who have many years of experience helping children improve upon their areas of weakness by reaching their therapeutic goals.

Expert Care

Our therapy department is small and families and clients get individualized attention from their therapist.  When we assign a therapist to a child, that therapist is the only one who provides treatment for that child.  The relationship and trust developed between the therapist, child and family is an important part of the therapeutic process and contributes to the child’s success.

We understand that therapy is expensive. If your child has a current evaluation in the area of treatment (within the past year), we can use that information to determine treatment goals.  If your child has not had a recent evaluation, the assigned therapist can conduct an informal evaluation during the first session to determine areas of concern or we can schedule a formal evaluation for your child with our testing department. Then the therapist will individualize your child’s treatment goals and begin working on any area of concern. We understand that unexpected things come up. If you are not able to attend a session, just give us a minimum four-hour notice of cancellation and we will not charge you for the session.

Getting Started

Our therapy services are conveniently located close to you. We can provide services at our clinic locations in St. Charles or Webster Groves or at any St. Louis County, St. Louis City and St. Charles County library. With permission from your child’s school, we can also administer services at your child’s school during regular school hours. Miriam Learning Center offers therapy services Monday-Thursday 8:00am-8:00pm during the school year and Monday-Thursday 8:30am-4:30pm during the summer months. We schedule therapies on the same day and at the same time each week for 50-minute sessions. You get to choose which day, time and location is most convenient for your family.

When you are present at a therapy session, we encourage you to participate in therapy to learn strategies that will help your child meet his or her goals. When you cannot attend a session, you can meet with the therapist for the last five to ten minutes of the session when you pick-up your child, to get an update on progress. For service provided at school, the therapist will email parents with monthly updates. Parents may contact the child’s therapist more frequently if needed.

Billing and Insurance Information

Unfortunately, we are out of insurance networks for all therapies and we do not directly bill insurance for services. However, we can provide you will an insurance friendly statement for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Enrollment in any therapy is ongoing throughout the year. Therapy stops when the child has reached his or her goals.
