Speech Testing
Serving families in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and St. Charles County, our diagnostic assessments are designed to identify factors impacting academic and social success. By identifying individual strengths and challenges, we provide personalized recommendations to support your child’s success.
A speech evaluation helps identify any issues that your child may be having including apraxia, stuttering, difficulty with certain letter sounds and other articulation issues that may make it difficult for you to understand what your child is saying. Some speech mispronunciations may be age appropriate. We use standardized tests to evaluate your child’s speech. The therapist also listens to your child to identify speech errors. We can add speech testing to a language evaluation if concerns in this area exist or only provide a speech evaluation if this is the only area of concern. Speech testing takes about one hour, and we can schedule the testing usually within one to two weeks of the referral. After we complete testing, the evaluator completes a formal evaluation report. Our speech/language pathologist will review the evaluation results with you and anyone else you wish to include. This consultation usually lasts about 30 minutes.
