Empowering Unique Learners

Learning Disability Testing

Serving families in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and St. Charles County, our diagnostic assessments are designed to identify factors impacting academic and social success. By identifying individual strengths and challenges, we provide personalized recommendations to support your child’s success.

We can only diagnose a Specific Learning Disorder such as a disability in reading (Dyslexia), writing (Dysgraphia), or math (Dyscalculia) through testing. A Specific Learning Disorder occurs when testing scores show that one or more academic areas are significantly behind same age peers and are not due to lack of instruction, an intellectual developmental disorder, uncorrected visual or auditory disorders, mental or neurological disorders, psychosocial adversity, or lack of proficiency in the language of instruction.

In addition to showing that the student is struggling in the area(s) that is below peers, we have to rule out other causes for the discrepancy in academic scores. Learning Disability Testing occurs within the framework of the Psychoeducational Evaluation. See that description for more details.
