Empowering Unique Learners

In-School Supports

We understand that every child’s needs are unique, and accessing quality interventions shouldn’t add to your busy schedule. That’s why we provide individualized, in-school support services designed to help children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Serving families in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and St. Charles County, our in-school model ensures your child receives expert care in a familiar and convenient environment.

There is no need to drive your child to multiple places for services. They may be able to get interventions at school.

Families are busy, and time is valuable. After-school activities occupy many days, and adding in treatment for a child who is struggling may not be feasible in the afternoon or early evening. Miriam has over 100 partner schools that rely on us to provide support services for their children. When a child attends a private, charter, or faith-based partner school, the school has usually authorized Miriam to provide academic, therapy, and mental health services within that school. If your child’s school is not a current partner, do not worry. We can approach them to become a partner and get their permission to come into the school to provide treatment.

Unfortunately, although many public school districts are partner schools, they generally do not allow outside agencies to provide parent-pay services during school hours. Some public schools will, however, allow us to provide treatment at school during their after-school programming.

How it Works

Once you authorize and pay for services, we will coordinate a set schedule with the school to make sure we do not pull your child from critical classes. We can provide services through a pull-out or push-into classroom model. We will see your child on the same day, at the same time, each week for a minimum of 50 minutes per visit. If your child requires multiple services, we will ensure that services do not overlap or overload your child. If a holiday falls on your child’s scheduled day, they will miss treatment that day and we will not charge you for services.

Our licensed or certified staff can provide weekly services for your child in the areas of reading, math, writing, executive function skills, language, speech, occupational therapy, physical therapy, behavior supports, or counseling. All treatment is individualized and based upon your child’s unique needs. Your child’s treatment staff will email you monthly to provide you with a progress update. Feel free to contact them more often with questions and for feedback.

Children do not need to have a diagnosis to receive in-school supports.
