Integrated Therapies
Miriam thoroughly understands the importance of pairing therapies with academics to equip each student with the appropriate aids and skills. Speech/Language and Occupational therapies are built right into each school day and are integrated throughout our curriculum to help the whole child. Miriam OTs and SLPs pull students out for group or individual therapy, and they also push into classrooms at every level of education.
At the lower/middle school, every student receives a 15-minute sensory diet twice daily, where they rotate through stations in the OT room and get their bodies ready to learn. Throughout their Miriam education, some students receive fine-motor, gross-motor, or sensory therapy, while others find the OT room a safe haven to calm their bodies.
In addition to occupational and speech/language therapy, Miriam has a full-time counselor at each school.
