Miriam School and Learning Center is proud to announce that the Rotary Club of St. Louis has generously awarded a $20,000 scholarship to support students in need of financial assistance. This year’s recipient, Remi W., a ninth grader from St. Ann, is a talented young student with a dream of becoming an artist and a passion for learning.

The scholarship, which aligns with Rotary's mission of "Service Above Self," is awarded to students who demonstrate a commitment to community service and are actively engaged in giving back to their communities. Remi, who faces learning challenges due to ADHD and anxiety, is excited to take on new academic challenges, particularly in science, and to continue developing her artistic talents.

"I try my hardest, but I learn differently due to my ADHD and anxiety,” says Remi. “I’m looking forward to learning more about science!"

The Rotary Club of St. Louis Scholarship Fund will cover a full year’s tuition for Remi, providing her with the opportunity to pursue her education in an environment tailored to her unique learning needs. This generous scholarship will enable Remi to benefit from the specialized support and resources available at Miriam School and Learning Center, empowering her to build confidence and a foundation for future success.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Rotary Club of St. Louis for their unwavering support and commitment to empowering unique learners like Remi,” said Meg Bamford, Head of School and Learning Center at Miriam. “Their generosity is making a significant impact on the lives of our students and helping us fulfill our mission of providing a nurturing and supportive learning environment.”

The Rotary Club of St. Louis had the opportunity to meet Remi and hear her inspiring story firsthand during a special field trip to Miriam School and Learning Center on Thursday, September 19. Remi and her mother shared how the scholarship has positively influenced their lives and Remi’s educational journey.
