A Message from the Head of School, Meg Bamford - May 2025
Meg Bamford | Head of Miriam School and Learning Center

Dear Miriam Community,

As we close out the 2024–2025 school year, it’s almost hard to believe how quickly the time has passed. This year has been full of growth, discovery, and meaningful progress—both within our K–12 school and across our ever-expanding outreach programs.

Watching our twelve seniors cross the stage, each with their unique pathway of progress, was a powerful reminder of what makes Miriam so special. Last Friday, amid the tornado warnings, we honored our eleven eighth-grade graduates with the same pride and joy. It is a privilege to educate these young adults and partner with their families, knowing that the educational foundation they received at Miriam will allow them to continue to thrive as they grow into their potential.

At Miriam, we radiate so much more than academic success—we radiate hope, joy, and a deep belief in each child's potential. While other schools may face uncertainty or despair, Miriam remains where children are seen, supported, and given exactly what they need to thrive.

We are deeply grateful for our 210 dedicated employees who work each day to make a lasting difference in the lives of our students. Their commitment, compassion, and expertise are the heart of our community.

To our families, thank you. We recognize the sacrifices you make—financially, logistically, and emotionally—to ensure your child receives the support they deserve. Your trust and partnership are invaluable.

As summer begins, we wish you time to rest, recharge, and soak in the sunshine. We carry forward all we’ve achieved this year with gratitude and excitement for the future.

With every good wish and much appreciation,

Meg Bamford, Head of Miriam School and Learning Center

Paper stars with those four school values - along with the students’ names - wallpaper the windows around the school office. Whether it’s helping a peer or taking a deep breath during a difficult moment, school staff hand out stars when they see a student leaning into one of these four values - providing immediate, visual proof that their positive choices are noticed.

Today I was reminded of the lasting connections cast here when I had the privilege of giving one of our alumni, Isaac, and his father a tour of our Lower/Middle School Campus. Isaac is now considering a career in special education and is seeking a volunteer opportunity with us.
