Learning disabilities know no boundaries and the more than 800 students served each year by Miriam reside in nearly 100 different zip codes within a 70-mile radius of St. Louis. Miriam is committed to making our programs accessible to all children who can benefit from our specialized services.
Miriam annually provides $1,000,000 in need-based tuition assistance to more than half of the families we serve. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization we rely on the generous financial support of individuals, foundations, and corporations to help provide our specialized programming. Contact the Miriam development office at 314.962.6059 for more information about the following ways to give.
To help make our programs more affordable, Miriam provides need-based tuition assistance to qualifying families. Your annual gift helps ensure that every child has the opportunity to reach his or her full potential.
Early identification of learning disabilities paves the way for children to get the support they need to succeed. The Cornelsen Charitable Foundation of St. Louis has challenged the community to establish an endowment which provides for free or reduced-price diagnostic testing to qualifying families, and will quadruple donations made to this fund.
Miriam has launched a $9 million campaign to expand and enhance opportunities for students with learning disabilities. Your support will help fund Miriam Academy, our region’s only private, non-sectarian high school for students with learning disabilities, and/or fund the renovation and expansion of Miriam School to better accommodate the physical, social, and academic needs of our middle school students.
The campaign recently received a $500,000 challenge grant from the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation towards the middle school project. Your gift will apply to the remaining $1.5 million we need to raise by January 10, 2018 to meet the provisions of the grant and complete the campaign.
Monthly Giving is a convenient way to spread out your gift to Miriam over time with automatic recurring contributions. For less than $1 a day, you can become a Miriam Maintainer and make a continuous impact on the lives of children with learning disabilities. Your donation will be made today and on the same day each month using the payment method selected. You can change or stop your monthly gift at any time by calling (314) 962-6059.
Charitable Gift Annuity
Charitable gift annuities are one of the simplest and most popular forms of life income gifts. Through a simple contract the donor makes a gift of cash, securities, or property to Miriam and, in return, Miriam agrees to pay the annuitant (the donor or another beneficiary) a fixed amount each year for the rest of his/her life.
Named Endowment Funds
Donors may choose to honor or memorialize a special person or people by endowing a scholarship, position, or program at Miriam. Establishing an endowment enables the donor to personalize a contribution of $25,000 or more while also providing for the future needs of Miriam.
Fannie Landau Legacy Society
Donors who include Miriam in their estate plan are members of the Fannie Landau Legacy Society, named for Miriam’s founder. Legacy gifts ensure that Miriam programs will benefit future generations.
Miriam’s Paver Program
Honor a loved one or special occasion by giving the gift of a brick paver in the Courtyard Pathway next to the Mary Ann Lee Gymnasium. You can make a personal and permanent tribute while also supporting the Miriam Tuition Assistance Fund.
Miriam School and Learning Center Wish Lists
From computers to playing cards, Miriam School and the Learning Center have long wish lists of classroom and therapeutic materials that would greatly benefit our students. Please contact us to find out more about specific needs for each program.
