Learning disabilities know no boundaries and the more than 1000 students served each year by Miriam reside in nearly 100 different zip codes within a 70-mile radius of St. Louis. Miriam is committed to making our programs accessible to all children who can benefit from our specialized services.

Miriam annually provides $1,000,000 in need-based tuition assistance to more than half of the families we serve. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization we rely on the generous financial support of individuals, foundations, and corporations to help provide our specialized programming. Contact the Miriam development office at 314.962.6059 for more information about the following ways to give.

Miriam’s Annual Fund supports all of the programs and students of Miriam School, Miriam Academy and Miriam Learning Center. Your annual gift helps ensure that every child has the opportunity to reach his or her full potential.

Miriam has launched a $9 million campaign to expand and enhance opportunities for students with learning disabilities. Your support will help fund Miriam Academy, our region’s only private, non-sectarian high school for students with learning disabilities, and/or fund the renovation and expansion of Miriam School to better accommodate the physical, social, and academic needs of our middle school students.

The campaign recently received a $500,000 challenge grant from the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation towards the middle school project. Your gift will apply to the remaining $1.5 million we need to raise by January 10, 2018 to meet the provisions of the grant and complete the campaign.

In recognition of the support from our faculty, staff, families and friends, we are creating a Donor Appreciation Wall. This will be located in the new middle school wing at Miriam School. All gifts of $100 or more supporting the “Learning to Succeed” campaign will be recognized on the wall. For more information, contact Ron Van Fleet at or call 314.962.6059.

Monthly Giving is a convenient way to spread out your gift to Miriam over time with automatic recurring contributions.  For less than $1 a day, you can become a Miriam Maintainer and make a continuous impact on the lives of children with learning disabilities.  Your donation will be made today and on the 5th of each month using the payment method selected.  You can change or stop your monthly gift at any time by calling (314) 962-6059.

Charitable gift annuities are one of the simplest and most popular forms of life income gifts. Through a simple contract the donor makes a gift of cash, securities, or property to Miriam and, in return, Miriam agrees to pay the annuitant (the donor or another beneficiary) a fixed amount each year for the rest of his/her life.

Donors may choose to honor or memorialize a special person or people by endowing a scholarship, position, or program at Miriam. Establishing an endowment enables the donor to personalize a contribution of $25,000 or more while also providing for the future needs of Miriam.

Donors who include Miriam in their estate plan are members of the Fannie Landau Legacy Society, named for Miriam’s founder.  Legacy gifts ensure that Miriam programs will benefit future generations.

Honor a loved one or special occasion by giving the gift of a brick paver in the Courtyard Pathway next to the Mary Ann Lee Gymnasium.  You can make a personal and permanent tribute while also supporting the Miriam Tuition Assistance Fund.
